Faith Camp Northwest

Our journey in the US has taken us more than 3000 miles in a little over three weeks. Places we have driven through are often roads less traveled. Long stretches of empty plains were familiar sights on our trip from Cedar Lake, Michigan, where we had our last Faithcamp, to Hayden Lake, Idaho, this past weekend. The scenery was breathtaking as soon as we climbed up the Rocky Mountains towards western Montana. It took us five days to finish this leg, and with miles of tiresome driving, we realized the world is enormous. How could we ever end the Great Commission that Jesus gave us almost two thousand years ago? (https://faithcamp.org/) (https://jesus4asia.org/)

We stopped at Libby, Montana for a short visit in a small church in the middle of northern Rockies pine trees. The church service was spiritual, with beautiful songs being sung by young people in a relaxed environment, and smiles on their faces really paid off the long trip to get there. And we got to make new friends. The seats were total and all age groups were well represented. The food? We admit it was the best we have ever had for potluck!

The following meetings were held a short drive away, in Hayden Lake, Idaho. We drove through scenic Northern Montana’s famous lakes and rivers, even stopped for overnight camping in a quiet lake, and arrived in less than three hours the next day. Idaho (and Pacific Northwest) has been the longest-running host for FAITH CAMPS. Since 2007 the first series of FAITH CAMP, many missionaries have been inspired and gone on mission trips from the area and Idaho has always been the busiest among all FAITH CAMPS. This visit is no different. Many familiar faces attended, and so did new ones. The Sabbath service was packed with many visitors also from the area.

We touched on issues that we had not spoken about for quite some time, and although we were hesitant in the beginning, God impressed upon our minds to share as the issue would relate with many youths, families, even older church members. And yes, it is definitely still part of FAITH story. Idaho we thought would be the church that we should invite into this discussion as it has the most members in our Faithcamp series.
